Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and a popular hill-station among Indian families and honeymooners. The weather is pleasant for most of the months with tourists flocking especially during the summer months. The winters are cold with some days of snow from mid-December till February end.
A road journey to Shimla is a visual delight. The hill station enjoys excellent connectivity with neighbouring cities such as New Delhi (350 km), Dehradun (230 km) and Chandigarh (115 km) through well-maintained national highways.
Shimla Airport or Jubbarhatti Airport, about 20 km from the city, is the closest domestic airport serving this beautiful hill station. There are regular flights for Shimla from cities such as New Delhi and Chandigarh. There are five flights available per week from Delhi as of now. Delhi to Shimla by flight is a time saving option also for all the weekends.
After arriving at Delhi Airport/ Railway Station, guests reach Volvo Pickup Point (on their own) in the evening. They embark on the Volvo Bus from Delhi to Shimla. This would be an overnight journey from Delhi to Shimla. Next morning guests reach Shimla.
This morning guests get to arrive at Shimla Volvo Point. Our representative will pick up aou guests from the Volvo pickup point and we move to the hotel for check in and freshup. Post check in we move for City Tour tour of Shimla and adjoining places. We visit Sankat Mochan Temple, Indian Institute of advanced studies, Lakkar Bazar. Rest of the day is free to explore various scenic spots enroute or visit mall road, enjoy shopping. In the afternoon we visit Kufri which is at approximately 40 minute’s drive from Shimla, an exotic nature place surrounded by dense forest and snow capped mountains. We visit Kufri Fun World. Located at 2800 metres above sea level, Kufri Fun World is one of the highest amusement parks in the world. It has the highest go kart track in the world. Situated amidst the snow-capped Himalayan peaks, it is one of the most beautifully situated amusement parks in the world. Next we take a horse ride to Mahashu Peak. Mahasu Peak, the highest peak in Kufri, is accessible only by horse/mule. The muddy road is best traversed on horseback, which makes for an interesting experience.Rest of the day is free to explore various scenic spots enroute. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
This morning after breakfast we check out from our hotel at Shimla and leave for Dalhousie . This would be a day long journey. Dalhousie is a popular hill station in Himachal Pradesh, boasting views of the snow-capped peaks of the Dhauladhar ranges. Dalhousie is famous for its meadows, dense jungles, and waterfalls. It is especially famous amongst honeymooners and family vacationers. By the late evening we reach Dalhousie and check into our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
This morning after breakfast we visit Khajjiar. One of the most scenic Plateau known as the mini Switzerland of India and is surrounded by dense pine and deodar forests. There is a small lake in center with a floating island and 9-hole golf course here. Next we visit Panjpulla. Known for its cascading waterfalls and five scenic wooden bridges, Panjpulla is a picturesque picnic spot and a starting point of several hiking trails. The nature is lushest and the falls are richest during the monsoon season, but throughout the year families can enjoy various rides at the small amusement park featuring slides, a Ferris wheel, and a small boating area. By the evening we are back to our hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
This morning after breakfast check out from our hotel and move on for our local sightseeing of Dalhousie. We visit St. John’s Church . Built in 1863, St John's Church is the oldest church in Dalhousie and assumes great historical significance apart from being a sentinel of Protestant belief in the region. Located in Gandhi Chowk, it tends to be a favourite amongst photographers because of the steady mix of beauty and history. Next we visit the Gandhi Chowk. Unlike other hill stations, Dalhousie doesn't have a mall road, so Gandhi Chowk is the Mall Road of Dalhousie. For shopping in Dalhousie, the town has several local bazaars and centres at Gandhi Chowk. One can shop for simple local souvenirs, woollen clothes and every-day treasures. There are a plethora of small shops to fulfil your list of gift items including The Tibetan Market, the Himachal Handloom Industry Emporium, Himachal Handloom and Crafts Centre and Tibetan Handicrafts Centre. By the evening our representative drops our guest at Dalhousie volvo pickup point. Guests embark on the overnight Volvo from Dalhousie to Delhi. The next day they reach Delhi and continue their onward journey home.
